Guided Kayak Tours
All tours are designed to be fun and safe for guests of all skill levels.
1/2 day tour is 2- 3 hours $90
We offer half day professionally guided kayaking tours to groups of 2-6 people. No kayaking experience necessary! Kayak weight limit is 275 lbs. Covid-19-update all equipment is sterilized after every tour or rental. Please pack extra clothes as you may get a little wet. Sandals and shorts or quick drying pants are a good choice for paddling tours. Mornings are often the best times for paddling in Sooke as the wind typically increases in the afternoon. Private tours are $135.
Sooke HarbourThis guided kayak tour starts at Billings Spit, a safe protected area of the Sooke Harbour. On this tour you might see Harbour Seals, Bald Eagles, River Otters and Osprey. Only minutes away from downtown Sooke. This tour is customizable from 2-3 hours and the route depends on the weather and tide conditions. | Sooke BasinBillings Spit - Launching from the Sooke River, this tour takes you around Billings Spit into the Sooke Basin. This is a great way to explore the quieter side of the Sooke Basin. In the fall, this is an excellent place to float among the salmon running up the Sooke River. Careful, one might jump in your boat :) | Sooke RiverThis tour is perfect for Bear watching during the Fall Salmon spawning season (Sept-Nov). Launching kayaks here is easy on mid to high tides. This tour is perfect for beginners. It's possible to paddle up the Sooke River here to some swimming holes. |

Ella BeachWe start this tour on a very quiet and secluded beach that is a 5 minute drive from Sooke. For this tour we are on the open ocean, away from the hustle and bustle of the Sooke harbour. You can expect to see Bald Eagles, Harbour Seals, Sea Lion and during the right time of the year, you may even see Humpback whales. This paddle is most enjoyable on calm mornings with minimal wind. | Kemp LakeKemp lake is a great lake for swimming and paddling all summer long. The warm water and calm conditions make this an ideal tour for beginner paddlers. This is the back up location for kayak tours on windy days. | Jordan riverJordan river is a popular place for recreational surfing and kite surfing. The waves, or 'swell' as the locals call it, make this an exciting paddle tour. After a 30 minute drive from Sooke, we launch into the Jordan River then play amongst the waves alongside surfers, and other kayakers/ SUPers. At the end of the tour you can warm up with a great coffee and snack at a local Cafe. |
Muir CreekThe launch for this trip is 15 minutes north of Sooke on the shores of beautiful Muir Creek. On this tour you can see Bald Eagles, Harbour Seals and possibly Humpback whales. Afterwards we can stroll down the beach looking for fossils. |
